I'm in the middle of week two of not having a full-time job.  The hub says I look much less stressed and happier.  A is still happy to see me when I pick her up from school every day.  I'm all about routine, so just when I think I have the new pace of my day figured out, something changes it.  I'm tutoring middle school students in China, and the 16 hour time difference makes life interesting.  I'm on call as a substitute, and, thankfully, so far, I've received a few days notice when they need me to go in.  I'm writing a little and am just about to start doing a freelance editing assignment that is actually much larger than I thought I would find so soon.  I actually have so much to do that my grand plan of being one of those people sitting in Starbucks every day after doing my morning workout does not appear to be happening any time soon.

OMG It's a Video

Now that I have all this free time, I'm trying new things.  This is the first, so bear with me as I figure out how to use the technology and the best lighting.

It hasn't been a blizzard here in Southern California, but we have had a pretty cold winter this year, but, yes, I do have sandals on.  It's a typical winter for us though with a cold spell lasting for a few days followed by a week in the 70s.  I'm sure that's one of the reasons that A has been sick so much this year.  Thanks to all who have asked; she is doing better but still has a cough.  She missed an entire week of school, so next week being my last week at work combined with her needing to make up a tone of homework should be fun.

I also want to thank everyone for their kind words about my decision to leave my job.  It was a tough decision, but every day I'm more and more sure it was the right one.  I've received an offer for a part-time teaching job which I'm excited about.  I'm still exploring what else I want to do, but I'm taking my time and not jumping into anything.  Figuring out what you want to be when you grow up is tough.

New Post on FilmAnnex

This week's post is up on Film Annex.  We've had a tough week with A down with the flu and still battling it.
